About the founders 👤

Greg Kufera, a Princeton math graduate, spent five years in San Francisco working on math, product, and crypto. They then moved to LA to write for the final season of "Silicon Valley" on HBO. Outside of work, Kufera enjoys writing music and music software.

Herman Phillips, the co-founder and COO of Cinapse, brings an array of experience from the Assistant Directors department in major films and television series. Notably, Herman has worked on Disney+'s acclaimed shows like The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, as well as HBO's Silicon Valley, Euphoria, and Insecure. Additionally, Herman has contributed to notable productions such as Steven Spielberg's The Fabelmans, along with various Netflix, HBO, Apple, Disney, and Hulu projects.

Greg and his co worker, Heather recognized the widespread challenges in the film industry: paper-based workflows, a lack of digital technology, and inefficiencies on set. Greg, gaining knowledge of filmmaking processes, was determined to address these frustrations. Meanwhile, Heather, an experienced AD, had long sought to transform outdated systems. Herman, witnessing the limitations firsthand, started working on mobile app solutions for production. Together, Greg and Herman used all this feedback and founded Cinapse with a shared mission to revolutionize the industry by providing accessible, efficient, and digital solutions that streamline workflows and alleviate crew challenges on set.
